I always heard to be successful, you have to look successful. But for what it's worth: I had an uncle who decided he wanted a new car. So, he goes to town dressed as usual, in his faded bibs and clodhoppers and pulls into the Chrysler dealership. He spies a new Imperial that takes his fancy (this was in 1967). Here comes the salesman and says may I help you? The uncle says, How much is this hyere car? The salesman says....uh, well, maybe you'd like to look at some of our used models. Uncle says, I didn't ast about none of them used cars...how much is this'un? The salesman says...sir where do you bank? Uncle tells him and so the snotnosed salesman runs to the phone and calls the bank. "Hey do you know a so and so, he's here wanting to buy a new Imperial!" The banker says, "Yeah I know him and if he wants to buy the dealership, sell it to him." So here runs the salesman, "Sir this car is $7500." Uncle says, well, I'll take it and proceeds to pull out a roll of Franklins and counts them out on the hood. He climbed in that fine car with his shoes covered in cow$hit and drove away. Success is measured in many ways. Either by appearance....or cash. The former helps, the latter always makes the difference.

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
