How are you going to haul the water? Tank on a trailer of some kind? Do you need the pump to fill the tank, or will it be filled from a hose/pump somewhere else? If you don't need the PTO pump to fill the tank, you really don't need, or want, a pump to water trees. Just use a 1" or so diameter piece of flexible hose from the tank, and let gravity do the watering. Hang the end of the hose higher than the water level in the tank, and you wouldn't even need a shut-off valve. If you are bent on getting a PTO pump, Agri Supply sells a Ferroni for about $130. If I needed one, I think I'd lean in that direction. Also, use caution if you are drawing water from a river/pond - the "gunk" from the bottom is hard on some of these pumps. At minimum, use some sort of a filter screen, and also raise the intake off the bottom somehow.
