OT - Burning fields

How many of you guys burn your fields this time of year? What benefits do you see from it? I have been told that if you wait until the weeds germinate it will kill the weeds and let your grass grow in thicker. I don't know if it really helps, I just like seeing the fields glowing! Dug the Pyro
