I certainly don't want to hijack you thread, but I saw a unique steam related item on Ebay last week.
It was a gas valve for regulating the flow of fuel into a gas fired boiler. No steam pressure and the valve was fully open allowing a full flow of gas. As steam pressure built the additional pressure forced the valve further closed. Maybe that is the norm, but I've not dealt with steam before.
