I can't speak for the 94 GMC but, I have pulled more than a few oil pans off 70/80's Chevy-GMC full sized 4 WD's. I know a fellow that changed an oil pan on a early 90's S-Blazer by unbolting the axle shafts from the differential and removing the axle housing. Not an easy task.
