Hardened pin and bushing stock in lengths can be purchased. New pins and bushings cut off of long stock pieces are MUCH cheaper than buying individual packaged pieces - often a tenth of the price. Problem is, if you want to order it through a steel yard, there are minimum lengths required to place and order. So, it doesn't pay to order 20 feet of bushing stock, and 20 feet of pin stock unless you're running a repair shop. It works nicely though if you can find a place that keeps the stuff in stock and just order the pieces that you need. Zimmermans in PA (the Cletrac place) keeps some sizes in stock, and I've bought 1 foot pieces from him in the past. I've got two backhoes that I need pins and bushings for, so I've got to start looking around.
