You'll be okay switching. I've used Pennzoil in my '95 F-150 for the last 130,000 miles, don't know what the first owner used. Many years ago I had a Volvo that the previous owner used Pennzoil for 120,000 miles, judging by the entries in the owner's manual, I bought it and switched to Quaker State for the next 120,000 miles. The feller I sold it to was a diehard Valvoline user, so I imagine that's what he used, and he drove it for at least another 5 years. It used about a quart in 3,000 miles all the time I had it, but that was mostly from a leaky pan gasket.
