What you believe is a fifth gear is most likely the "Start" selector. If original, you would put the shifter there in order to fire it up. Mine was bypassed before I got it and now works with a key.
On the side of the block you should see either Z129 stamped (TO30) or Z120 (TO20).
Maybe if you wet the plate by the steering wheel, you could make out the serial #. Also, if you go to the Ferguson board, there's a lot of very knowledgable folks there. Chuck
