all select o speeds had to have live power because they couldn"t run a pto off an automatic transmission, but it didn"t matter anyway, Fords "live power" design was to run a shaft off the engine flywheel to a hydaulic clutch rear off the tranmission. this was standard on Fords built into the 80"s and is ideal because the pto can be engaged/disengaged irreguardless of trans operation.
