Ours will just about kill the engine when its cold. Make sure you have the correct fluid (HYTRAN) and that it's full (a little over 2 quarts) and then cycle the system up and down to bleed any air. Also, grease the zerk fittings on the lift shaft bushings and make sure all other linkages are freed up and lubed.
