which is better?.

A diesel tractor that has very few hours but has done lots of sitting around or one that has a few hours and has seen more constant use over the years?. The reason I ask is because I had bought a pickup that had been sitting and had alot of problems with it. I know our tractors don't run as good if they don't get used regularly and they always run better after being used all day here and there and gotten up to a good full operating temperature. Does a diesel that has done alot of sitting since new and is say 20-25 yrs old gonna be really goofed up and gummed up or would it be fine?.
