Paul, I farm HEL ground. I'm not allowed to work HEL ground and stay in the farm program. I can level ruts with permission. In corn stalks you need a disc to cut them. Disc enough to fill the ruts and plant. You'll never get a field cultivator through anyway. If you are following beans you can usually get a field cultivator through in the spring. Go lightly. Don't go deep. Never turn up mud ribbons. Fill your ruts and plant. In this manner you can pull your cultivator with your 255. One of the first rules of no-till is do not rut your fields in the fall. Be patient and wait for the weather. Wheat stubble is the hardest. It is very difficult to no-till into wheat stubble. I mow the stubble and then I can get a chisel plow through it. Then I field cultivate lightly once in the spring and plant. This leave enough suface residue to cooperate with the program. No-till has special challenges. From time to time you'll need to work ground and level it. But, if you can patch work ruts or washes, you can keep the benefits of no-till and save time and money. Good luck.

And, if you are like me, your tractor is under cover, but it sits outside. So with every temperature change, the humidity in the air collects in the fuel tank, in the form of water.
