Simply pick a "handle" that has not been reserved by someone else, and make up a "test" post, and post it. A box will come up telling you if you want to reserve that name to type a password. Pick a password, and enter it, and complete the post. This will password protect your new "handle". You computer will remember the password, and you won't have to re-enter it until such time as you clear your "cookies". Then you will need to enter the password the next time you post.
