If it has glow plugs (as opposed to the manifold heater mentioned) it will have some sort of electrical connection near each injector nozzle. It may be a flat "buss-bar" going from plug to plug with a spade lug connection on one end to pick up 12v.

If you find that, or a wiring harness going to a connection near each nozzle, you've found your glow plugs. They should screw out, much like a spark plug.

If it has a manifold heater, (I think the 'bota engine in the Bobcat at work does) you'll find a wire going to a terminal on the air manifold. If you can get yer eyeball in the right place, you might be able to squint down the air manifold (take the air cleaner boot off) and see the heater grid.

I'm assuming you turn the key left (counter clockwise) and hold it, then turn right to start?
