Any diesel should start fine at 40 degrees, so
all you need is to get the engine block to 40.
Probably only 30 really. so however long it
takes. My 85 hp with a 1200w tank heater needs less
than an hour at zero degrees. The bigger
140hp unit needs about 1.5 hours but it is
more cold-blooded anyhow. If I have to both will start sooner than that. So, this is a funcion of how cold it is, how big
your heater is (watts) and how big the engine
is. I'd think 2.5 hours is more than enough. --->Paul
