Built a hot air wood furnace 25 years ago use it in the basement- works fine and I also connected hot water coils to heat hot water for the house-- this could be put out side by building a fireproof insulated room aroundit and running 12" ducts ( insulated) to the home) the door on the front means a lot should be auto damper ( bi-metal spring we have the ability to draw up plans if interested
