well i'll tell you what . i was going to do the same thing i am a cert. welder and have made things that i should not have .any thing is posable but i went to two shops that make them and seen the set up they have biggest thing is tooling for cutting and set up. go over to PRO-WELD at ELCHO WISC. they weld the johnson furnace for johnson.in time and materals i feel it would have cost me a LOT more then just spending the 6 grand for a proven unit. also it's the BEST 6 grand i spent . just my thinking and you can try any thing if you set your mind to it good luck
