Here are my views on horses compared to tractors in general. My wife has 4 (yes, I said my wife....no we involved there). I don't dislike the horses and more or less enjoy making hay, etc for their consumption, but from a practical standpoint..........well you will get my drift... When a horse misbehaves, you could be in real trouble, when the tractor misbehaves, you can always turn it off. When you can't afford to feed your tractor, no problem...with horses however...... Tractor exhaust generally floats away on the breeze, horse exhaust however requires the use of a shovel.... When you put the tractor away for the day, you don't need to brush it down and pat it and tell it that it was a "good tractor" (although maybe some of us do) When the tractor dies, it at least has scrap value and doesn't require the digging of a large hole....if it dies in the winter, it doesn't matter that there is frost in the ground....(and don't even bring up the rendering facility....my wife might be reading this....) I could go on for a while longer, but I will probably get enough guff from the horse lovers out there.......remember, I said I don't particularily mind the horses (like I said, my wife might be reading this......)

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
