Questions on Diesel vs Gasoline Prices

Got a couple of questions here about diesel and gas prices. 1. I remember when diesel prices were far lower, maybe 1/2, of gasoline prices. What has happened in the market that they are pretty much the same or even higher for diesel? 2. Out of a barrel of oil, how much gasoline (all grades) vs diesel are produced?
