Hey ya Mike, I've heard of and did the boiled hambuger and rice thing for a collie-shepard that I used to have that had developed kidney problems. The vet and a few people told me that. Is real bland and gets rid of some of the protien that's hard on kidneys. It helped for that, until they isolated it to a virus and treated it. Told me he'd live two years after that tops, but lasted 5 more real active years until one day, the kidneys gave out, no warning. Toss up between him and my lab, best dogs I ever had, and have had a few.
