Actually the plug problem is in the head - not the spark plug itself. On the early 4.6, 5.4 & 6.8 (2000 and older or so) there is only two or three threads in the head to hold the plug in - and its aluminum on top of that. Most (if not all) blown plugs occure after replacing the factory plugs, the torque must be carefully measured, only 12 or 15 pounds. About what you'd use on a lawn mower. One can easily strip the threads of the head, or cross thread the the plug without ever knowing it. There's even debate as to the use of antiseize lube on the threads lowers the torque specs even more. Given that you can't start the plug with your fingers (too deep of well) replacing them can be a costly venture and a huge PIA.
