We had as many as ten hores at onetime.
Now we're down to six but have over thirty llamas and only on five acres. It's not so bad, she works hard to raise extra money for the feed and vet bill.
So far, I have twelve tractors. A little uneven, isn't it. She doesn't gripe when I bring another tractor home because, if she does, I remind her of the last llama she bought.

See where this is going. When she buys a horse, you have an excuse to buy another tractor.
