My 666 did that when I first got it, and I played around with it for hours, cleaning sediment bowl screen, flushing tank, etc. Was getting set to take the carb off to clean it out and was now suspecting the fuel shutoff solenoid and it hit me....on my old 2N Ford, there's a screen in the fuel inlet elbow to the carb. Sure enough, turned out to be just a bunch of crud in the screen. Cleaned that out and she purrs like a kitten, well, a really loud kitten, maybe!
