There was a huge discussion on this several years ago on this board- I had been using one 12 volt on my Oliver 550 diesel, and decided to try 2 six volt in series. I didn't see much difference at the time, and now I have to "get lucky" to start it. I'm going back to the biggest 12 volt that I can stuff in the box, next time.
