I have a 1975 4000 Ford and a manual with it that refers to the selectospeed transmission. Your picture shows the blue which is Ford and the agricultural model vs the commercial or industrial which are yellow. It fits between the engine and the hydraulic sections of which there are 4; engine, transmission, hydraulic and rearend.
It's an automatic transmission and seems quite complicated to repair.
