Boom Saftey problem solved Thanks T-Bone!!

T-Bone you were the only one who gave me numbers for the stress points in what you were talking about. You got me concerned I made the Boom to strong that when it gave it would snap bolts or parts on the tractor at that point. The Boom is to strong and not designed to bend slowly. So I will make a change to solve that by moving the attachment point of the top Tension brace down the boom. This way if someone desides to try to lift something way to heavy the boom tip will bend and lower the load slowly or it will bend during the lift. This way nothing can break it will only bend. It will be a way of limiting the amount it can lift with out shearing or snaping anything. It is a shame you have to derate a boom to a low bending point for people who have no idea on what a thing weighs or safe lifting limints with there tractor. You do not want a failure to be breaking something that could make something fly or free drop. This is why I posted this here for comments and thanks T-Bone! I knew the boom would bend if I put the upper point lower on it but was not figuring someone way over loading it even if I said it is designed for 1,000 lbs and I tested it at 3,000+ lbs for a saftey factor. At least now I know the rest of it is safe but the boom will only bend if over loaded. I need to make it Fool proof! Mark H.
