On my Monarch lift, there is a terminal on the side of the solonoid that can be disconnected. this prevents the motor from tunning when keying the controller. I just disconnect that wire, go back to the cab, activate the left-right control back and forth a few times and that relieves the pressure on the lines, allowing easy connect and disconnect. Have had my lift unit for a number of years, am very pleased with it's performance. really like the rocker switches instead of a joystick. Just don't go off and leave the down button in the down/float position! Will run down your battery.
