I also live in NW Wisc. and repair old tractors as a side business. What Nebraska Cowman said is accurate, the new oils are way better than the oils of even 5 years ago. However, I will add that if you are using the 5w20 that most, if not all, the OEMs are now calling for or, if you do not change your oil in your vehicles yourself, I would use 10w30 in the tractor especially if the engine has a lot of hours on it.
