Arlin, Please describe more about the tranny troubles you are haveing. My cousin got a 74 4230 last year all up shifts are easy ,but the down shifts on each set are the drizzlees. 1,2,4,6 are easy. R1,R2,3,5,7,8 are the drizzles.Always gringing, slop in the console? syncros out? We are not sure. JD dealer wants +,- $1000 just to rebuild the console. Don't know what it would take to put syncros in the tranny! Later, John A.
