Hydraulics!!! A pair of hose ports working together is one remote outlet. Now for loaders and some other applications a supply line will be tapped to run to a remote set of hydraulic controls. That's another whole kettle of fish. The return line will be running right back to the pump suction via the filter housing etc. Some old timers have just on hose connection and use gravity drop. That's still considered a remote outlet.
