steam engines shouldn't scare any one. I have been operating steam engines since i was about 6 years old. I operated the families 30 hp case by myself at the age of 8.That accident in ohio was operator error plain and simple. Pennsylvania has had boiler inspection laws since the late 70's.And i wouldn't run and engine with a bad boiler. There really should be a goverment standered set up with inspections though. that would keep insurance costs down.but i don't see anyone fighting for steam engines. thats why i am!
