South Dakota may be OK to call home, but you may not want to endure our winters every year. A large number of RVer's do claim residence here, but travel South for the winter months. Real estate taxes and sales tax are our main source of goverment income. RE taxes per year amount to about 1.5% of appraised value. Sales tax is 4% (plus some cities @ 1% to 2%). Vehicle license is realtive to vehicle weight (my 6600# Chevy is about $70.00 per year). Insurance (full coverage) is about $650.00 per year on the above vehicle. The sticker in the state is wages...low...so bring your own money!
