I fix lawn mowers, do minor house repairs and other things for female friends who have neither the ability or the money to do it. In return I get my truck interior cleaned, my windows painted, help cleaning my basement etc. I get something done I need done and they can do. They feel better because they don't want charity.
I think it fair to ask for somthing in return even if it is a minor thing.
