cracked transmisson

I have a crack on the bottom of the transmisson on my M because of a lift cylinder bypassing when i lifted a bale. The crack is about eight inchae from the axle and about a foot long. What is the best way to weld this thing. I have been thinking of splitting the tractor and rolling the transmisson over to weld. I am not the best at welding overhead. Maybe I could take it to Allan and swap him for his H !! How would you guys fix it? Thanks
