I realize that choices were only JD M and Farmall Super C but have you considered the farmall A? I own a 1944 A and it is a super tractor for garden work. Small, versatile, fair fuel usage, fantastic for plowing and cultivating, plenty of power (especially if you up to a super a), etc. The only gripe I have with the A is it's hard to mount accessories. They're pretty frustrating at first but after a few times you get pretty efficient at the job. I've never used the other two tractors but after what Missouri Boy said (and it sure sounds like he's had experience with both) I'd say lookin at another tractor is a good idea. Plus, the A is pretty cheap. I got mine for 700 and haven't had to touch the engine yet (5 years of work). God bless.
