Draw circles on thin cardboard {cereal box} with a compass a tad larger than the bore. cut em out as best you can. slide em down half inch or so in the bore. if you didn't do a good job on the cut out part, then a little wheel bearing grease will seal them up. when the block clean up is done, use a shop vac to suck the crud off the cardboard. this may sound like a lot of work but not as much as trying to get the crud out of the cylinders.
