Right, a 12volt charger will cook a 6v pattery if left on too long. Putting a bulb or other resistor in series will only prolong the process, when battery gets charged, and current drops thru bulb, then voltage across battery increases, and battery still cooks! Get a 6 volt charger/maintainer.
