Thanks everybody for the thoughtful responses. I started this since my wife's parents were "threatening" to buy a tractor for us. MY criteria was mid 60's vintage, 40-50 hp, with loader, power steering. This generally would have given live power and hydraulics and been able to do quite a bit of work around here. I was looking for additional "ammunition" Well yesterday my father-in-law showed up here with a Ford 9N. Awfully generous on their part, but now I have to make the beast usable for us. It starts and runs pretty well, brakes are pretty much non-existent, hydraulics and PTO seem to be working. I agree with some of the posters that for the money he spent you could probably find a more workable tractor, but he liked the idea of having a collectible that he could play with. I guess I will go haunt the ford groups for a while. Thanks Again, Kirk
