Your chattering priority valve is likely just reacting to pressure pulsations from a bad main hydraulic pump. If your front pump has a bad valve, piston, or spring in any of it's eight pumping chambers, the output pressure will fluctuate, causing noise downstream. I would check the spring and spool in the priority valve, also, just to be sure there's not a problem there. I sure wouldn't remove the priority valve! Sometimes having brakes and steering when you need them is kinda handy!
