Paul: Interesting senario, on just who cut the hoe handle off. My dad always had about a dozen or more hoes. He always said when a guy cut his hoe handle short it was a sign of poor co-ordination. I still have dad's last hoe, blade is only about 1" high anymore. I also have a hoe I bought the week I got married, 39 years ago June past. Marg claims that one. I have another same style but less the 10 years old. I can tell you the steel in this new hoe, is quite crappy. First time I ever bent the blade of a hoe, this new one. If all new hoes are as poor quality steel as this new one, laws were not needed to ban them. Cost would make them obsolete. By the way my hoes all still have 5 foot handles.
