check the cooling fins under the sheet metal engine covers. They are most likely blocked and preventing the air moved by the fly wheel fins to cool the engine. If it still runs hot, replace oil with synthetic oil, I found that really helps a small engine run cooler. Air cooled engines are really, "oil cooled"
