The main drawbacks to your Toro is:
1. The have a 14ga stamped steel deck compared to Dixie Chopper, Grasshopper, Ariens, Gravely. They will eventually stress crack from extended use.
2. They use tapered roller bearings in the deck. If you grease them too much you will push the bottom oil seal out and then it will not hold grease. If you do not put enough in it, the top bearing will go out from lack of lubrication.
We have had 2 units in out shop that had 19hp Kaw and 44" deck with bearings and pullies destroyed with less than 250 hours on them.
So yes, they are $3000.00 cheaper than a Greasshopper, or others, but they also are not as heavy built machine.
