That's your problem. They would go out once in awhile.

GM needed an electrical "shut off" because of the way their "variable throttle" worked. When you kill the switch, it in turn kills the fuel at the pump and shuts down the engine.

Be very, very careful when you replace that coil. If you don't get the linkage hooked up just right, when you start the thing, the engine will run away from you and you cannot shut it off.

I would have a pair of needle nosed vice-grips handy so if you have to, you can pinch off that rubber line; this will kill the engine in an emergency.
