I have a 300 row crop. The serial number is on a shiney plate (under a film of dirt & oil no doubt) on the right side of the tractor, rivoted roughly between the engine & bell housing. The engine stamping is just for the engine, no relation to the tractor serial #.

You will want to track down how water is leaking into the rear end & fix that as well.
