The 4020 was, and still is, one of the most popular tractors ever. There are thousands still in use on farms across the country. With the number of them still in use, Mother Deere keeps the parts inventory up, and easy to get. That is important.
The 3020 is still popular too, but not like the 4020.
The 4020 would make you a great tractor, as well as a great investment. The value will remain high for years to come, considering the price of NEW tractors.
I have a 1971 4020 with over 8000 hours. It's on the second engine, but the powershift tranny shows no signs of letting up. They were great tractors in it's day, and they are STILL great tractors. You would be well served by getting a nice 4020. John
