Hogwash! It is you who are confused. In the early days of gasohol many cars caught fire and burned to the ground due to it's nasty habit of dissolving seals in fuel systems. Most '95 and up models have different seals specifically to allow the use of gasohol. Some rebuild kits for carburetors include gaskets/seals made for use with ethanol, but many don't. Further, gasohol damages some fuel injectors, and fouls fuel filters. Any engine that will not be operated for periods of time exceeding 30 days should never use it as it will foul the entire fuel system. This is the reason many seasonal use small engine manufacturers recommend storing them dry if they will be left inactive beyond 30 days.
