I went back at it again, and am now down 5 feet all around the stump, am not encountering any more sizeable roots, but am hitting a large root ball mass. The responses are of great value to me, and I thank each and everyone of you for your kind replies. The stump will still not even rock a little even though it seems perched way up on it's fulcrum. I do not have access to a dozer as I am quite a way out in the country side, it would be expensive to bring one in. Will keep pecking away at it as suggested, if it still will not move, there is always blasting (LOL). The root configuration would point to the Tap root system, Boy what a biggy. Thanks again to all, and will keep you all posted as to my health if I try blasting. (Hope I don't have to go there). Regards Douglas
