OT: Canola vs Rape Seed question ??

Often wondered about this. When I was a kid, one of the crops was referred to as Rape or Rape Seed. Some years back they changed it to Canola, at least in Canada they did. Is it still called Rape elsewhere or did it change all over? Any other names for it in different parts of the world?
