I"ve ran a 6"er on a 32 HP tractor, and on a 70 HP tractor. Depends on what you"re mowing, and how fast you need/want to go.
The 32 HP tractor was cutting weeds well over the hood, and kept right on plugging along....@ about 2 MPH.
The 70 HP tractor was cutting small cedars, Sumacs, and weeds over the hood too....@ about 5 MPH.
I"d figure about 7-1/2 HP per foot, minimum. John
