On hard, glare ice you will still get some slippage, it"s normal. I really don"t think you will do any damage to your tractor as long as you excersise a little common sense, in other words, go reasonably slow, and don"t let the tires just sit and spin if it is bouncing the tractor. I have not seen an owners manual in several years that said anything about using tire chains, whether it was for a car, truck, or tractor.
